Level 3 French
Level 3 will be taught by Catherine, a native French speaker who studied French and English at the Sorbonne in Paris, qualified and then taught English for more than 30 years to secondary school and adult students.
The class usually takes place at the communal room (Kerbuannec 2). However, for the first term in 2021, the class will take place by video conference on Mondays from 10:00 to 11:00.
Depending on the health situation during the year, we may have to adapt, so people joining any of the French groups this year must be aware that we may have to use video conferences at any stage.
Level 3 is meant for people who:
can speak and write about things which are familiar to them, what they are doing at the moment and are going to do in the future
can have some simple conversation with French speakers about the weather, their health, their habits, their projects...
During the year, they will:
revise what they learnt during their Level 2 course (present tense, near future, etc)
develop their abilities to communicate and their knowledge of French grammar, studying the present tense in depth and being introduced to the main French past tense, the « passé composé ».
By the end of the year, those who have attended the course regularly should be able to:
speak and write about what they are doing, going to do, have done and did before
have progressed in conversing with French speakers.
